It was another very productive weekend. I wasn't part of the World Wide Knit in Public Day but I sew a lot! :D And I think I'm done with all the gifts I was planning to do, at least until my vacation when I'll visit Lilia or Christmas. And I think this is the post with the most photos I did until today!
Minha sobrinha faz 18 anos (!?!!) no próximo sábado e faz tempo que eu queria fazer uma bolsa para ela. Eu já tinha visto este tutorial há algum tempo e esta semana ele apareceu em diversas listas de artesanato (whipup , craftzine, etc), então resolvi que era essa mesmo que eu ia fazer para dar de presente!
My niece will be 18 years old (!?!) next Saturday and I've been planning to do a purse for her. I've seen this tutorial some time ago e this week it was in a lot of craft lists (whipup, craftzine, etc), so I decided that that was what I would do!
Eu li o tutorial com cuidado, cortei os tecidos seguindo os moldes e achei que estava
indo muito bem até chegar à parte de virar a bolsa, o tecido externo para fora, o forro para dentro e aí eu fiquei com isso ! em mãos.I read the tutorial really careful, cut the fabrics following the patterns and I thought I was going really well until the part to "Turn the bag right-side out through the top of one handle". Rodei, virei e não consegui entender onde errei! Então decide fazer
algo que eu fosse capaz e desfiz as costuras, tirei o fundo redondo e empilhei os tecidos, ainda seguindo o molde básico para tentar chegar a algum lugar.I turned and turned, but I couldn't understand what I did wrong! Acho que a idéia básica ficou, mas não foi o que imaginei. Completei 
com dois lacinhos nas laterais. No final, até gostei. Espero que minha sobrinha também aprecie, especialmente o trabalho!I think is still the basic idea, but it wasn't how I imagine it. I finished it with to small bows at the sides. In the end, I like it. I hope my niece also appreciate it, specially how much work I put in it.

Outro presente que fiz foi do meu irmão. Eu já tinha pintado um
suporte de garrafas de madeira para ele (sem foto!) e aproveitei e fiz um porta-garrafa para ele poder presenter amigos com um bom vinho ou carregar uma bebida para alguma festa. Foi minha segunda tentativa nessa idéia. Acho que ainda não está perfeito mas já dei alguns passos.Another gift I made was for my brother. I had already painted
a wood bottle support for him (no photos!), so I went I made a bottle-carrier for him to take when given wine bottles to friends or just to carry some drink into a party. This was my second try with this idea. It isn't perfect yet, but I think I made some advances here.E no final, aprendi algo sobre mim mesma: acho eu me encaixo no tipo de pessoal que aprende com ajuda visual-espacial e um pouquinho de tato. Ou seja, preciso ver o caminho do objeto, tutoriais com fotos são tudo!, e eu vou experimentando na hora como chego a algum lugar. E essa introspecção venho deste texto do blog do Sew, Mama, Sew.
In the end, I learned something about myself: I think I'm a "visual-spacial / tactile-kinesthetic" type of learner. I need some imagens to show me the way - tutorials with photos are the best! - and I just go on experimenting to see where I can go. All this philosophy came from this text from the Sew, Mama, Sew blog.
