Derretendo... / Melting...

Lá vou eu reclamar do calor de novo! Mas desta vez tenho um motivo específico! Meu desodorante roll-on derreteu! Fiquei tão impressionada e ocupada em limpar a meleira que esqueci de fotografar! Talvez seja por isso que este paragrafo está exagerando nos pontos de exclamação! :P

Here I am to complain again against the heat! But this time I have a very good reason! My rollon deorant melted! I was so impressed and occupied cleaning up the mess that I forgot to take a picture! Maybe that's why this paragraph is over exposed to exclamation marks! :P

Mas é verdade sim. Abri a tampa do desodorante e algo branco de consistência de uma sopa grossa escorreu sobre a pia do banheiro. Deu pra sentir o calor? E quando sai de casa o céu estava nublado mas o calor continua. E isso me fez pensar nas chuvas de verão, as águas de março da canção de Tom Jobim. Chuva de verão, pelo menos aqui no Rio, tem de dois tipos: a fininha que parece evaporar antes de chegar no chão e a torrencial, de meia hora e que inunda metade da cidade. Não sei o que vem por aí, mas que vem algo, vem...

But it's true. I open up my deodorant and something white and with the consistence of a thick soup run over the bathroom sink. Can you feel the heat? And when I left home today the sky was covered in dark clouds but the hot weather is still here. I started to think of the summer rains, the Waters of March as in Tom Jobim's song. We have two kinds of summer rain, at least here in Rio: the thin one that seems to evaporate before even hit the ground and the storm kind that rains for half an hour and floods half the city. I don't know which kind is coming, but something is definitively coming...



Estou tentando seguir com a minha lista de "A Fazer" e acho que finalmente descobri porque estou empacada no quilt laranja que comecei ano passado, como contei neste post. Fiz o desenho no papel, pensei nos tecidos e tudo, mas desde essa primeira faixa algo não me soava bem, estava meio desafinado... Nesses últimos dias, lendo blogs por aí, finalmente me deu conta que apesar de todo o preparo e do desenho ter ficado bonitinho no papel, o resultado em tecido não me agradava e era por isso que eu não ia pra frente. Acho que vou tirar as estrelas desse quilt e trabalhar com quadrados em várias versões. Vou voltar para o desenho e ver se chego a um resultado que funcione e me faça querer terminá-lo!

I'm trying to keep follow up my "To Do" list and I think I finally found out why I seem unable to go on with the orange quilt that I started last year and talked about in this post. I draw it, thought about the fabrics but the first part kept not looking good to me, a bit out of tune... I have been reading a lot of blogs and I finally understood that even with all the preparations, the cute drawing and all, the final results in the fabric didn't work for me at all. So I think I'll take the stars out and work with just squares formations. I'll go back to the drawing and see if I'm able to reach a better idea that works for me and give me the urge to finish this quilt!
