Apesar da chuva / Despite the rain

O dia de ontem foi decepcionante para quem contava com o feriado. Começou nublado e antes da hora do almoço começou a chover e continuou tarde e noite adentro. O evento do dia, a festa de lançamento oficial do Ano França-Brasil, a acontecer na Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas foi mantido e aconteceu debaixo de chuva pesada. Mas o mau-humor do tempo não atrapalhou a beleza do espetáculo. Foi mesmo muito bonito e especialmente original para quem está acostumado com os fogos de reveillon de Copacabana. Segundo o adido cultural francês são mais de 400 eventos acontecendo em todo o Brasil para celebrar a França e a conexão brasileira com o berço da república moderna. Vamos aproveitar!

Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment to those counting on the holliday. It started with lots of clouds and the rain started pouring before lunchtime. The event of the day, a presentation to launch officially the France-Brazil Year (sorry, only in Portuguese or French) to happen at Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon was confirmed and it happened under a lot of rain. But the gloomyness of the weather didn't get in the way of the beauty of the show (sorry, the news are in Portuguese. If anyone find it in English, I'll change the link). It was very good and specially surprising for those used to the New Year's party at Copacabana Beach. The French cultural representative said there'll be more than 400 events around the country to celebrate France and brazilian connection with the birthplace of the modern republic. Let's enjoy it!
